"This Is My Body"

Martin Luther, Father of the Reformation, has impressed me best with his understanding of the role the Lord's Supper plays in our lives. The Catholic is trained, based on my training, to believe that the bread and the wine turn into the literal body, soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ in the hands of the priest. The non-Catholic is taught that the bread and the wine are just symbols. Luther says that neither is the case from Scripture, and I agree with him.

Luther says that we just take the Lord at his word for the duration of the Lord's Supper -- add nothing and take nothing from his assertion: "This is my body" (Mark 14:22). We do not make up some rule that a man can turn bread into something else or that it remains the literal body of Christ after the Lord's Supper is completed. We do not seek a microscope to study whether there is some molecular change in the bread or the wine. We just take it by faith alone that Jesus wants us to view it as his literal body, soul and divinity during the act of the Lord's Supper.

As far as the wine needing to be fermented or not, we'll talk about that another time.

Pastor Gene Chapman

Patrick, the programming director for American Radio, tells me tonight that I am scheduled to be on the program next Saturday evening to talk about the Cuban Freedom Fast from Miami and the effort to bond the two movements together in the fast for the removal of Socialist Communism from our shores. Gene.

I'll be conducting the first Lord's Supper tonight at 8 p.m. CT for the Gentle Love Christian Fellowship Church here on slavefreedom.com via audio blog. I anticipate this to be done each Saturday evening at the same time from now on. So lick the salt off a cracker, pour yourself a cap full of Mad Dog 20/20 and join us tonight (ha ha). (Note: I'll be using Tropicana Grape Juice). Pastor Gene Chapman.

My 41 day Cuban Freedom Fast is on schedule to begin Feb. 8, 2004 at 12 noon in Miami, Florida to join both the Cuban Freedom Movement and the Tax Slave Movement together against the Communist venture that now envades our civilizations. Together, we are a stronger voice against a tax on labor (The Second plank of "The Communist Manifesto"), a tax on real property (1st Plank), a centralized banking system (5th Plank) and a public school system (10th plank).
